This video describes the work of Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku and the Tibetan Aid Project to preserve the teachings of the Buddha following the invasion of Tibet in the 1950’s. Tens of thousands of Tibetans fled, crossing the Himalayas to refuge in India, Nepal and Bhutan. The World Peace Ceremony began as a plan to sustain the faith of the refugee Tibetan community by sponsoring a gathering in Bodh Gaya, India, at the site of the Buddha’s enlightenment. The book distribution that takes place during this annual event is replenishing Tibetan libraries throughout the Himalayan region.
